Veer is a 2010 Hindi action movie directed by Anil Sharma and written by Shailesh Verma and Shaktimaan Talwar. The movie is inspired by Nikolai Gogol's Russian novel Taras Bulba. The movie stars Salman Khan as Veer Pratap Singh, a courageous and loyal prince of the Pindaris, a community of warriors who resist the British rule in India. Zarine Khan plays Princess Yashodhara Singh, the daughter of King Gyanendra Singh (Jackie Shroff) of Madhavgarh, who supports the British and betrays the Pindaris. Mithun Chakraborty plays Prithvi Singh, Veer's father and the leader of the Pindaris. Sohail Khan plays Poonam "Punya" Pratap Singh, Veer's brother and his companion in arms.
The movie follows Veer's journey from his childhood to his adulthood, as he fights for his motherland, his love and his revenge. Veer and Punya go to Britain to learn their ways and skills, and also kill Yuvraj Sujan Singh, the son of Gyanendra and the brother of Yashodhara. Veer falls in love with Yashodhara when he kidnaps her to blackmail Gyanendra. However, he faces many challenges and enemies, including the British army, Gyanendra's army and Yashodhara herself, who becomes the queen of Madhavgarh after her father's death and vows to destroy all the enemies of her kingdom.

The movie has many thrilling and dramatic scenes, such as Veer's escape from the British prison, his duel with Gyanendra, his marriage with Yashodhara in a temple, his capture and torture by Yashodhara's army, his rescue by Punya and Prithvi, his final battle with the British and Gyanendra's forces, and his reunion with Yashodhara after she realizes her mistake. The movie also has many songs composed by Sajid-Wajid, such as "Surili Akhiyon Wale", "Salaam Aaya", "Taali", "Meherbaniyan" and "Kanha".
